30 Dirty Thoughts “With Or Without You”
30 Dirty Thoughts
Los Angeles (USA) - May I offer you a little bit dirty-smirky pop punk from L.A.? It’s a real pleasure for me introducing these guys today on my blog as they have recommended “Wah Wah My Ya Ya” to their fans. And of those they do have a lot (with good reason!).
On the Reverbnation Band Ranking they’re already on #7 for Los Angeles and we all know, in sunny shiny L.A. are maybe more bands located than counting bicycles in Hong Kong.
The Canadian-American pop punk combo did not only one of the very best covers of U2’s “With Or Without You” I for one have ever heard yet (it’s simply brilliant, listening to this meanwhile well-worn Irish love-hymn now as refreshing alternative punk rock version), they writing also lyrics whose satiric and humorous scent in the air makes you grin whilst listening through their songs when you hear lines like those:“Kids are sitting round the house, wondering what to do
Camps were cancelled, summer sucks, so many feeling blue
Perhaps they could just step outside, the streets are full of toys
old central vacs, and laser printers, and other countless joys!”
(from “The Toronto Garbage Song”)
or
“There once was a time when it took more edge
than a weekend course in studio knowledge
When lyrics meant something
And singers didn’t sound like androids”
(from “Auto-Tune This! Singing Like A Douchebag”)

The band 30 Dirty Thoughts was found in 2003. Toronto-born singer Ian Kelk tried to treat himself after a heart-wrenching breakup with starting a travel-trip through Mexico to forget his love troubles. But instead whelming in forgetfulness, he was run over by a car in Mexico-City. He ended up teaching English with a broken leg in the “Wall Street Institute” where he met his future-bandmate Oskar Villarreal. They started with playing Nu Metal and did the decision to focalize on storytelling in their lyrics and mixing them up with socio-critical aspects. Ian has recently moved to Los Angeles to continue the band and Oskar lives in Mexico and promised to return one day. With band-members Carl Buena (bass), Jeff Galland (drums) and Masa!!Iga (guitars) the four fab pop-punks are ready to get the world domination and you will become luckily a part of this mission, when you start listen to their stuff.30 Dirty Thoughts
“Auto-Tune This! Singing Like A Douchebag”(Finally someone takes the piss out of those guys who do use in productions this ugly, alienating voice-effect on pseudo dance-pop tracks I hate for ages … they took the words out of my mouth with their song)

Kim Kardashian is occupying your internet. No, it’s not real. For more hilarity follow Kelkulus on twitter, http://www.twitter.com/kelkulus
Just for fun, Ian’s alter ego “Kelkulus” created a fictional Kim Kardashian explaining her financial ways. No, it’s not real, but the message is.
We’re doing it — we’re jumping on the bandwagon. Time to join the world of blah-blah-blah-blogging. Blog, blog blog blog blog.
It’s 9 pm on a Saturday, and just as I was about to give up on finding anything interesting to do tonight, Nicole Nogrady sweeps in with an invite to a show. Oddly enough, when I thought I had nothing to do tonight, I was going completely stir crazy. Now that I have a huge event with (apparently) an invitee list 300 people long, I really don’t feel like putting on my pants.
Seriously, pants suck. The world would be a better place without them. So I’m just lying here milking the amount of time before I have to get up and pants myself; it’s a rough life. -Ian
